MIchelle Carpenter
Michelle Yvette LeMoi Carpenter was born in Providence RI where she grew up as the redheaded freckled kid that rode motorcycles and skateboards up and down her small town street. When she wasn't she could be found sitting atop the highest tree dreaming of her next great adventure. She's the daughter of a foreign auto mechanic and a strong, inventive stay at home mom who ran the family's mechanic shop. Michelle was taught from day one that nothing is ever broken and that with enough creativity anything can be possible. Her parents instilled that she was to believe in herself and that there is only one person who's opinion mattered of herself....her own. Her dad would say your name means self, "Le Moi" you are "number one" no one can take that from you, "believe in you".
At a very young age a camera was in her hand and she knew the arts were to be her future. Drawing, painting, designing, she didn't care what it was. It all made her happy. She attended RISD in 1992 for graphic design. While attending she was introduced to wedding photography. One day during the getting ready portion of a wedding she decided that the groom needed to see how beautiful his bride was before the dress went on. August 1993 she snapped her first boudoir image and she was hooked.
Today she is one of RI's top photographers and she has expanded her photography business to include commercial and fashion photographer Adam Clear. Michelle quickly saw the same qualities in Adam and knew he needed to be a part of her creative process.
Adam clear
Adam too started at a young age he was given a bright florescent yellow camera as a gift by his mother that took 110 cartridge film. The cartridges had 24 exposures each, within 15 minutes the film was gone and the passion was born.
Adam has lived and traveled internationally since the age of 9 photographing the people and places which surrounded him. Upon returning to the United States and completing high school Adam attended RIT to earn a degree in Advertising Photography. This he utilized over the next 10 years in New York, LA and then Boston doing everything from assisting, to digital teching, studio managing, production, and shooting. He now owns and operates his own commercial studio as well as being the studio manager and acting partner at Michelle Carpenter Photography and LeMoi Boudoir. The few times he doesn't have a camera in his hands you'll find him covered in grease and dirt with a wrench in his hands working on one of his classic cars . . . or fixing Michelle's off-road jeep.
